Poster Session Underscores Undergraduate Research, Student Success at 香蕉福利直播
It was another deep-dive into undergraduate research as students, faculty and staff attended the Fall 2022 Undergraduate Research Poster Session on Thursday, September 22 in the 香蕉福利直播 Student Center Atrium. The showcase featured the work of Undergraduate Summer Research Award (USRA) programs鈥攐ver 100 香蕉福利直播 undergrad students, including McNair scholars鈥攚ho shared their research through creative means, discussions and (naturally) print poster displays.
To wit, the 2022 Poster Session was yet another treasure trove of knowledge, one showcasing how students benefit from their experience as they chart a course to new career paths and skills鈥攄oing so with a 香蕉福利直播 faculty investigator as an anchor and mentor in the process.
In all, 51 different projects across five different colleges were awarded and they covered a wide range of topics鈥攊ncluding everything from the therapeutic function of music, predictors and effects HIPAA breaches, sex-ed in public schools for LGBTQ+ populations, urban agriculture, forest function, ocular drug delivery, route familiarity and roadway safety, adaptive emotion regulation and many others.
For the audience-at-large, thorough-yet-concise student presentations resembled elevator speech-style TEDx Talks, something akin to educational speed-dating or in-person podcasting.
The robust USRA program offers students opportunities to work on projects with faculty each summer and is steeped in intellectual inquiry, which fosters active student involvement throughout. The resulting event provides those students the chance to discuss their work with the 香蕉福利直播 community. Engaged students + engaged research = Engaged Learning. Undergraduate students interested in getting involved with the 2023 Poster Session should visit the Undergraduate Summer Research Award (USRA) programs page for more information.
