Dr. Casey Hinger, Counseling, Administration, Supervision and Adult Learning
Dr. Casey is an assistant professor in the Department of Counseling, Administration, Supervision and Adult Learning (). She received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Georgia State University () and completed her internship at the GSU Counseling Center. Her research broadly focuses on addressing intersectional systems of oppression with an emphasis on antiracism and racial allyship dynamics from the perspective of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. Through her research, clinical work, teaching, and advocacy, Casey is committed to continuously interrogating and working to dismantle White supremacy and other interlocking systems of oppression.
Dr. Hinger's teaching includes the American Psychological Association (APA) accredited Counseling Psychology specialization of the Ph.D. program in Urban Education. As a professor, Casey is passionate about multicultural training and student development and wellbeing. She also currently serves as an Editorial Board member for the journal The Counseling Psychologist and has recently published articles in the and .
