It is an honor and privilege to serve as Chief of Police for Ï㽶¸£ÀûÖ±²¥. With close to twenty years of service, and as a proud alum of Ï㽶¸£ÀûÖ±²¥, I have a heartfelt vested interest in the safety and well-being of the campus community.

The officers and staff of the Ï㽶¸£ÀûÖ±²¥ Police Department work diligently to keep Ï㽶¸£ÀûÖ±²¥ a safe community for all. We provide 24-hour law enforcement services to all persons living, working, or visiting our campus.

In addition to traditional police and security responsibilities, officers engage in a wide variety of community policing activities to engage and partner with our community. This includes our COPS (Community-Oriented Policing Services) program, where officers are assigned to specific buildings across campus. This initiative fosters stronger relationships through personalized customer service, training, and proactive problem-solving. I invite you to familiarize yourself with the many programs and resources we offer.

We are proud to have earned our third accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), reaffirming our commitment to excellence in policing and public safety. Additionally, we have been recognized by the Ohio Collaborative for meeting high standards in law enforcement policies and practices.

Our strong relationship with local law enforcement is a cornerstone of our approach to campus safety. Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cleveland's Division of Police, we have established a close and cooperative partnership that ensures a seamless and coordinated response to public safety matters affecting both the campus and the surrounding community.

To continue building upon police-community relationships, we established a therapy dog program in 2022. This program offers crisis intervention support and positive community engagement, providing comfort and companionship to survivors, as well as those with disabilities and mental illness.

Following this, we introduced our Co-Responder Program, which pairs a social worker with a police officer to provide an extra layer of support for individuals experiencing distress or suffering from a mental health crisis. This collaboration ensures a compassionate and comprehensive response to those in need.

The safety and quality of life of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors is our top priority. It is an honor to work with the extremely professional and dedicated team of sworn, civilian, and student staff. These dedicated individuals are committed to the consistent delivery of reliable safety services.
